His feet moved like a bow leaving an arrow
They sounded like a warrior beating his chest with a fist that look likes war cries
His body fits into the floor
Like a stone in wrapped in a sling
Mother earth releases his knee caps like bubbles that burst on impact
His bones are drum sticks
Kicked and tossed to the crowd
Like we were shimmering symbols
A standing manifesto
We all look like two echoes
Etched across the sky
I am the loudest star he’s ever kicked up
His memories look like a boom box after it fell in love
A smiling volume knob that turns itself when you’re around
Those wires went through me like your hair in the wind
I caught my breath like I just caught a songbird perched across my sternum
and it’s wings wave like sound waves like oceans wave at people who wish they could get lost inside of it
I am waving like you can get lost inside of me
There are no maps in this mirror of a man
My love is a blank globe
We can go anywhere
place your hand on my chest
That place is our place
There is air there is water there is a house with windows on every side
Come throw rocks at its panes
I got a rock for your pain
On the nights you do not dream
I leave music notes on your pillow
From this trombone i traced out of the book of your back
Your spine is a page I underline every sentence in, I don’t wanna forget the shape of your hips, how you look like the only vowel in the world light
How you feel like ice cream Fridays during my third grade lunch days
I’ll trade my snack pack…for your celery sticks
put my name in your bubble gum so I stick to your tongue when you push me off the jungle gym
Slide into me like gods hand in the glove of the solar system
Pick me up like guitar picks
picked apart by thumbs that got this close to heaven just by stringing a guitar into the tune of my lungs
If sound were made up of rain clouds
Then we’d be two screaming thunder storms in search for a few birds to serenade with rain drops
Rain drops and I caught your tear just so I knew the difference
Treat me teeth like a xylophone
your mouth is an instrument
your collar bone is a bon fire of Christmas lights
In the crackling noise
of a fist against the jaw of fear
You broke my cheek bones like a curfew and decided to sneak in through my throat
I do not know much
But what I do know is that
My Legs fold like picnic tables when you set your hand on mine
Sometimes I get so wrapped up in your breathing
I forget the world is one loud fire alarm, a red siren saying you have less time now then you do back then when you thought you had something more to give but now there is enough time to live
So I swallow reverberations of a nation rebirthed like jazz coming out of child’s laughter
or honey stuck in the horn of a brass bandit
The sticky Noise knocks me up like I’m giving birth to a slick harmony, with pomade in its hair, a cery hardened melody wakes the man at me I am a concave lover
A sound wave that waves like oceans saying hello, Branches that shake your hand and arms that open up like big tree trunks
You are the only forest I cant catch my breath in
Remember my love is a blank globe
And we can go anywhere on the map
put a star over my chest
You are here
We are starting here
Knee deep in each others speakers
I will love you as loud as this boom box beats
And beats and beats
and
nothing beats that
